Jacquelyn Powell

Jacquelyn Snider-Powell is from Canadian Co. OK. Jacquelyn was diagnosed Aug 2008 with a very rare and deadly form of breast cancer Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) at Stage 4, known by some as the Stealth Breast Cancer. It does not show up on mammograms, ultrasounds, 2 biopsies only one showed cancer cells. She went from the radiologist being just a simply lumpectomy, to the surgeon saying it’s IBC stage 3, leaving the oncologist Stage 4 and a long battle to fight. Treatment included 4 rounds of chemo, then a double mastectomy and 25 lymph nodes removed on the right side, to 6 more rounds of chemo plus the wonderful drug Herception for 1yr, at the same time spending 6 weeks at MD Anderson at their world renowned IBC clinic with radiation 2 times a day.

Jacquelyn is now left with post cancer conditions Congestive Heart Failure and Lymphedema. 2011 finds her actively searching for opportunities to share about IBC.
