Adam R Sweet is a South Hadley, MA based violinist, composer, bandleader and string fanatic who has been described as a "magician" by Face the Music, and as a player presenting a "stellar classical sound with a fantastic skirling style, his bow flashing colors across the imagination landscape" by Celtic Crossings. He specializes in Americana, Celtic, Klezmer and Classical; new music, improvisational forms and acoustic folk bands, while playing in many different genres and musical situations around the city and beyond, from concert halls to garden parties, dances to weddings. Current projects include Eastern European music with the Klezmer Project, traditional Irish, Scottish, Welsh, French Canadian, Nova Scotian and New England Contra with the Celtic Project, and acoustic traditional and new domestic music such as bluegrass, acoustic country, blues, jazz, swing and western swing with the Americana Project.

"Mr Sweet has taught all over the Pioneer Valley at such fine institutions as the Northampton Community Music Center and the Keene Institute of Music and Related Arts; as well as out of locations such as the Fretted Instrument Workshop, Downtown Sounds and Belchertown Music. Now he offers music lessons out of his studio in South Hadley. I highly recommend his Mandolin Group!"

"I have been taking fiddle lessons from Adam Sweet for over a year. In that time, he has taught me music theory, how to read music, and how to improvise. I now come to his monthly jam sessions and am comfortable playing melodies with my friends. I went to a bluegrass festival this summer and jammed with some other people, something I have wanted to do all my life! Adam is a great teacher and a good soul. Highly recommended!"
