I didn't learn to surf until I was 27 years old! I always wanted to learn but was too intimidated to go out there by myself. When I started surfing, I could not find one female surf instructor who I could call. I surfed with a few guys I knew but wasn't really taught the basics regarding safety, technique and proper surf etiquette. It took me a long time to feel comfortable out in the water on my board. After a few of my girlfriends asked for lessons, I realized there is a need for a female surf instructor to focus on women who can understand everything that a woman may feel about learning to surf.
