Music has always been a central part of my life, and I started teaching piano lessons when I was just a teenager. I majored in music education and did post graduate work in conducting. I taught in the public schools for many years, even leading workshops at state music conventions on incorporating the dulcimers into the school music programs.
These days, I teach and perform not only in the Houston area, but all across the country at festivals, conventions, County fairs, churches and community events.

"For many years, I admired the music of the hammer dulcimer but felt I could never master it. About four years ago, I bought a student model along with some books and tried to learn how to play it. I also acquired CDs of HD music to enjoy and one was 'Look Back with Love' by Peggy Carter. I would listen and say "How does she do that?" Peggy conducted a one day school in Pleasantville, Iowa. I had the pleasure of experiencing some of her excellent teaching. It was then that I gave her my email address. After a few months, I received and invitation to join her Dulcimer Circles; which I did. Each month, she puts up printable music, mp3 audio and excellent videos of performance and instruction on the internet directed exclusively to Circle members. If so, then you need a teacher and Peggy Carter has taught music in schools for many years and now i am blessed to have her as "my" teacher. We live a thousand miles apart, but her monthly on line lessons and books have helped me achieve my dream of playing beautiful music. She is so helpful and wonderful to work with.
