Nicholas Tamagna

New York-native countertenor Nicholas Tamagna, inaugural winner of the Nico Castel Mastersinger Competition 2011 as well as other awards, is a frequent soloist with a wide variety of opera companies, orchestras, and early music ensembles, breaking gender barriers in 19th century repertoire, and creating roles in new works. He has extensive history as a musical theatre/cabaret pianist and has taught several musical theatre programs for teens and children. He co-publishes the online journal "The Countertenor Voice." He currently teaches out of his studio in NYC and is music director for Youth Theatre of NJ.
