"I've taken so many acting classes in my life and truly Matthew's is the finest. I feel as if I've grown so much since starting his class only 3 months ago. I've been in the 'business' a LONG time and felt like I knew it all and what a surprise to find that Matthews techniques and insight have really opened me up emotionally. As look back at what I just wrote, it makes me want to punch my own face in, but what can I say, he's great and it's all true! Matthew is intuitive, smart, kind, generous, fun, personable and incredibly gracious. This is the first acting class that I have taken where I feel I can really take risks without judgement. Everyone in class feels it's okay to suck and try out things that usually make one afraid. The atmosphere he creates is, (Here I go again sounding schmaltzy, but it's true) loving and safe."

"In the short time I have been in Matthew's scene study class (about 2 months) I have noticed a dramatic shift in the way I think about how to 'act'. Matthew creates a professional, yet safe environment for artists to explore their craft. His intuitive approach and his personal dedication to self growth and exploration make it possible for the artists in the class to be challenged and explore new territory. Unlike other acting classes I have been a part of, the goal in Matthew's class is not to be perfect. His encouragement to have the courage to try new things without the pressure of the 'perfect' performance and placing the same importance on learning from the things that don't work as well as things that do work has been completely liberating. I am not just a better actor, I feel I am a better person for being in Matthew's scene study class. "

"I had two individual coaching sessions with Matthew in preparation for my audition to the Tisch School of the Arts, NYU. As a result I was more confident and prepared. I have had considerable training in the past. That training was consistent with Matthew's coaching, but his most effective help was with setting goals and strategies to get what I wanted as my character. I've been able to apply his teaching to plays and other audition opportunities. This improved my overall performance as an actor. "
