At age 35, I am a “Masters” pole vault athlete. I started vaulting my sophomore year in high school. I walked on to the Penn State University track team in 1994 and vaulted for Penn State two consecutive years until the vault coach was let go, unfortunately ending my vaulting career abruptly. I jumped back into vaulting in 2004 as an athlete and coach. I have attended Jan Johnson’s “Sky Jumpers” pole vault camp multiple times. I attended a specialized coaches clinic run by well known Australian and Russian pole vault coaches, Alan Launder and Roman Botcharnikov. I am also a USATF Level II certified jumps coach. Along with my extensive research and experience in the pole vault, I have coached a local high school’s first state champ in the pole vault for three consecutive years. I currently coach the Vermont DII girl's record holder. I am also personally on my way to clearing 15+ feet again in 2011. The pole vault is my passion. With the lack of support and resources for pole vaulting in the USA, not to mention the New England area, I want to pass on my vaulting expertise to aspiring athletes and help them safely reach their full potential as a vaulter.
