I'm an avid knitter who, for the past 8 years, has tried to take knitting beyond grandma's afghan and into the present.
I'm a geeky librarian who is always looking for the newest knitting books and patterns.
I'm a dog owner and lover who swore to myself that I would never become a crazy dog lady. Now I make and sell dog sweaters on Etsy (636knits.etsy.com) and have thoroughly embraced my inner crazy-dog lady. Life is so much easier when you accept your eccentricities, yes?

"Laurin was a God-send while I recovered from back surgery. She is patient, knowledgeable, and put me at ease, no matter how intimidated I felt. I never thought I'd master using both hands, but several projects later, I LOVE it! Not only has she helped me use 2 needles, but she has since taught me to use 3 dpn and circular needles. I now own a set of interchangeable circular. More remarkably, I feel confident using them! In fact, she taught me so well that I was able to pass on the basics to my nieces when they asked me to show them what I had learned. Thanks, Laurin, for saving my sanity and believing I could do it when I was pretty sure I couldn't. If she can teach me while I'm on heavy-duty pain pills, she can teach anyone!
