Kay Monteverde

I have over two decades of editorial experience in every genre of fiction to many in non-fiction. Since 1995, I have been facilitating writers' groups, read & critiques and providing many other services to writers in the Los Angeles area, Northern Virginia and currently in San Diego's North County.

I am affiliated with various writing communities throughout San Diego County, such as A Word With You Press & its Club House in Oceanside & PWSD & Writer's Ink, as well as many smaller local groups of writers. I read at open mics at the Club House, E-Street Cafe & Ducky Waddles, have participated in the Full Moon Poet's Slam at the La Paloma and attends various other read & critiques. I served as a judge for the San Diego Book Awards and books I have edited have been nominated, as well.

After a stint as the editor & reporter for WORDsd.com, where I interviewed renowned local author David Brin, I worked as an editor for an online publishing company, copy-edited the website & all materials for a San Diego based tutoring business & have been a free-lance editor for more years than I care to admit.

I facilitate a writers' group in Encinitas and a Healing Through Writing workshop in Carlsbad. Currently I am accepting participants for both an Artist's Way and Walking in This World workshop.

Recently, I won 1st prize in A Word With You Press' "One Tight Write" Contest by summarizing a life in 50 words.
