"I shopped all over town and observed at 3 the other martial arts studios (Tiger on the Red (kung fu), USA Karate and Lee's Kung fu) in Shreveport. I also have a past history with Aikido of Shreveport and used to work out at Master Baker's karate studio (now retired) in Shreveport. I chose Tracy's Kenpo Karate based on the style and the instructor and learning environment. I was looking for a martial arts style that was not all kung fu or all karate; kenpo karate has proven to be the perfect blend. Dave Hopper is very knowledgeable and he's a great teacher. He utilizes critical thinking in his instruction to get students to understand the mechanics behind the techniques. As a professor and an analyst myself, I highly value encouraging students to think critically. I started January 28, 2012 and earned my yellow belt on April 7, 2012. I love the structure of 2 group workout sessions/wk and the private lessons with my friend once a week. I highly recommend Tracy's Kenpo Karate and Dave Hopper as an excellent instructor."
