" Study old-time fiddling with me."

The fiddle music that I teach is rooted mostly in the traditional styles of old-time players from the southeastern US, especially the Appalachian region. I have learned first hand during visits with elder masters, from countless hours of listening to old field recordings, and over many years of playing at fiddler's conventions, on back porches, and in kitchen sessions.
I have performed at major folk and trad music festivals, and on radio and television broadcasts in the US and overseas, including A Prairie Home Companion. With the many concerts, dances, and other venues where I’ve also played, I guess you could say that I have gotten around a good bit with my music.
For better than 25 years, I’ve enjoyed sharing my knowledge of traditional music with aspiring old-time fiddlers. I teach private students both online and in my home studio, and also at workshops and music camps around the country.
