I began sewing 47 years ago at age 6, when my mother taught me to make Barbie clothes. My mother and both grandmothers were accomplished seamstresses, and all my clothes were custom made. They were my first teachers. By age 12, I was able to make my own. I also took sewing classes several times in school, and classes at local fabric shops. Growing up with custom clothing, I was spoiled and dislike the poor fit and bad construction of mass-produced clothing. Sewing is an art, where you can can express your own style, and also have better fitting clothes, with better construction. I love passing on this art, it is my passion. Come join the fun!

"Karin K is by far the best instructor ever!
her rates are reasonable compared to other people and fabric stores that have sessions on how to sew. My first project with her was making a pillow case and from then on I blossomed! definitely book a session with her you wont regret it, I can't wait to learn more on my upcoming project with her- Emily Brewer "
What services do you offer:
I teach sewing. I teach three levels of beginner sewing; each level consists of 5 two-hour sessions. At the end of level one, the student will have completed a pillow, tote and pull-on pants and learned how to use their machine, basic tools and about fabrics, needles and thread. Level two the student constructs a more complicated garment, usually a blouse or button-down shirt. Level three, the student constructs a garment or project chosen with teacher approval. I also offer individual two-hour lessens to assist when a person has specific trouble, such as altering a pattern or learning a difficult advanced technique.
