"Karen is a smooth and great instructor. You understand what she is telling you, or she will show you. You will get it. I enjoyed a few lessons on the Hammer with her."

"Karen is an excellent teacher! She was able to work with my daughter's skill level and take it to a higher skill level. My daughter went up in "chairs" during the school year & moved up to the highest level band. "

"We have had many piano teachers in search of the perfect fit for both of my girls. They have flourished with Mrs. Bolen. They have both said they love Mrs. Bolen. She is fun, she makes my kids laugh and they never fuss about going to piano lessons, they actually look forward to it. I enjoy how she individualizes her lessons to each of my kids based on their personality and skill level. Mrs. Bolen has a true gift fostering the potential in my girls and encouraging them in their desires as musicians. As a parent I love the studio. It is comfortable and quiet as I am waiting for two lessons. I can pay bills, read a book, talk to my kids, make my menu for the week. I look forward to my Tuesday afternoons at the Bolen Studio. "

"I started taking my son to Karen for Piano lessons last November. She has a great way about her to keep him engaged and challenged and still have fun with it. I think that Karen's classes have made a big difference. Without her help, he would have lost interest. But now he is still going strong! I highly recommend her classes!"

"Karen helped make the Hammered Dulcimer accessible to me as a rank beginner with simple techniques for playing and embellishing melodies. Once our group lessons ended she provided us with links to web sites which could help us continue on. What more could one ask for? I didn't give 5 stars only because I'm not able to judge her usefulness to very advanced players. For me, however, she was perfect. I just wish I lived closer to Cedar Park. "

"Karen taught an introductory Hammered Dulcimer Class that I attended. Her teaching style is very hands on with lots of visual aids to supplement the teaching. She also meets you where you are in your skill level. I think all of us who attended were at vastly different levels but she seemed to address and meet everyone's needs. I would go back to her for individual lessons. On another note, she helped me prepare for a contest by listening to my pieces, giving constructive feedback and altering my pieces if needed. I would go to her again for this as she could help me from a teacher and judging perspective."
