Jonathan Greenberg

Began playing trumpet professionally in New York City at age 11. Won Sam Ash music contest, worked in pit orchestras for Guys & Dolls, Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific, Hair and JC Superstar. Studio recording sessions with Ray Charles Rhythm section plus many fine players from Buddy Rich's & Maynard Ferguson's bands. Played Alice Tully Hall once and Carnegie Hall four times before moving to Virginia at age 16.
Continued recording career and played shows including, Coasters, Drifters, O'Jays, Platters,Temptations plus Ringling Bros/Barnum & Bailey Circus for many years. Received music performance degree from VCU with a minor in Jazz Studies. Worked with Va Beach Pops Orchestra directed by Walter Noona and began teaching private students plus graduate students at VCU. Currently teaching piano and trumpet in the Richmond area plus touring with various bands and still recording new music.
