  "Harriett gave me the confidence to play my violin without fear. She provided a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment that helped me to feel at ease with my musical level and ability. Harriett is a warm and uplifting teacher. She is able to explain musical theory and concepts in a manner that is easily understood and can tailor lessons to suit your specific needs. Having taken private lessons from other teachers in the past, I can definitely say that Harriett is refreshing in her approach. She makes the lessons fun, interesting, and most importantly non-intimidating. I was able to learn the specific skills that I wanted to learn and play the type of music that I was interested in. I had studied violin in both elementary and middle school, but had stopped playing in my high school years. As an adult, I wanted to return to playing the violin, but was nervous and insecure about my capabilities. With Harriett's encouraging assistance and easy instruction, I quickly improved and even enjoyed hearing my own music. (This is a feat to be sure!) I now pick up my violin and play music with other people and Harriett gave me the skills and confidence to do so. If I hadn't moved out of state, I would still be taking lessons from her. There is still so much I could learn! "

  "Harriett has been teaching my 9-year old for over 6 months and has been amazing. Her enthusiasm for what she does is infectious and really keeps my child interested in learning. During the 6 weeks that my child had a broken arm, Harriett continued to work on music theory with my child, all the while making it fun and new. Harriett is a great violin teacher and we are really pleased with her service."
