As a TEACHER: I think learning how to practice is as important as learning your instrument, as practice in itself is an instrument. I work with my students to understand their strengths, weaknesses and their goals. Then I tailor a practice routine that includes different aspects of the instruments so that the student can improve evenly in different areas of their instrument and in music in general.

"Nico is excellent!! He is an attentive, proactive and engaged teacher who seems like he can teach just about anything to anyone. Also, he is super duper fun. And he's from Italy! Anyways, as someone who used to play classical piano very seriously, I was really frustrated with how hard it was for me to teach myself guitar...and how to IMPROVISE on a guitar! Improvising can be incredibly scary for the classically trained. And I'm also very stubborn. But it feels like Nico was able to quickly assess how I learn, and was immediately able to get me to let go of my fears and focus on what I already know. I never once felt judged by my clumsy and struggling improvisation, and I always felt supported in whatever it is I was doing, whether it was learning the Red Hot Chili Pepper's "Otherside" or Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" or just improvising over some blues progressions. To be honest, I felt cool! SO if you want to feel like an absolute rockstar, learn a whole lot of theory without it feeling like theory, and have a great time, you should definitely get your jazz/rock/blues/pop on with Nico!"

"I found Nico's approach very helpful, he gave me specific exercises to improve my skills and understand the instrument better. I have been playing for several years and he gave the right tools to channel my creativity and taught me how to practice successfully. Great teacher!"
