I am a Woodwind Specialist specializing in flute, piccolo, clarinet, alto and soprano saxophone and soprano and alto recorder. I perform and teach all of these instruments and have 20+ years professional performance and teaching experience, founding The Flute Institute in 1997 and Wedding Instrumentals in 1991. Before founding The Flute Institute and Other Woodwinds, from 1990 - 1997, I taught flute, piccolo, clarinet, alto sax, and trumpet at Sabastian's Music in Vernon, Beller's Music in Manchester, Riccardo's Music in East Hartford, and the Music Works in South Windsor. I have performed regularly since 1991 with many CT theaters (Thomaston Opera House, The Warner Theater, The CT Repertory Theater, The Hartford Children's Theater, and The Goshen Players, just to name a few) as a Reed 1 Player. I am a Wedding Music Consultant and performer for my business "Wedding Instrumentals", and I teach private, semi-private, and group lessons at The Flute Institute and Other Woodwinds, originally located at the Rockville Baptist Church in Vernon, CT and moved to East Hartford to Gus' Drum Pad in 2007. I opened a satellite campus in Agawam, MA at the Agawam Congregational Church in 2008. I also was accepted by audition most recently into the band "The Blue Collar Project", a Blues/Southern Rock/Oldies/Rock-n-Roll and Country Band. I sing lead, background vocals, harmony, and play flute, alto sax, and soprano sax. I am also a certified CT Adjudicator since 1995 for the CMEA Music Festival Auditions for flutes, clarinets, and saxophones. I have also Head Judged the flutes and woodwinds. In Dec. 2010, I adjudicated the flutes for the All-New England Festival Auditions. Since January of 2009, I have conducted group sessions with the clarinet and alto saxophone sections of the Jr. High and High School Bands at Northwest Regional School #7, and I have recorded in New York City on the original musical "Buddy's Tavern" Soundtrack playing flute, clarinet, and alto saxophone. I am currently teaching in the Springfield and Hartford Metro areas.

"While I am not a student of Kellyann, but a professional composer in New York, I had the privilege of having Kellyann in the pit orchestra of my musical-in-development BUDDY'S TAVERN at the Spirit of Broadway Theatre in Norwich, CT in 2009. Subsequently she recorded much of the score in a studio in NY. Students of Kellyann's will benefit hugely from her gifts, which transcend the technical. Her grasp of woodwinds allows her to convey not just the music, but what brings the music from the page to the heart. Kellyann is a top-flight professional, and, were she to be living in New York City or its environs, she would be playing in the best ensembles and orchestras in this very competitive environment. Her students and her professional colleagues are lucky to have a teacher of her accomplishments and sensitivity. New clients should give her a try. "
Frequently Asked Questions
I do I invoice a student who pays me on a her monthly contracted amount by Credit Card every month and has one more month to pay for before the end of my Spring Session and the beginning of my 7-week summer session? She only pays by credit card and has been contracted by me to pay $125.00 per month for 45 min lessons based on a 19-week Spring Semester and paid in 5 Monthly Payments. This is really going to screw up my last month of the semester if she can't pay by credit card. Also I can't find the $400 or so I had in my account. Where did it go. It still needed to be transferred to my direct deposit account. Please help soon. My students bill is due June 1st otherwise there is a late fee attached to her account. I don't think this new system is going to work for me.
