I took my first hot yoga class in March of 2008 at the urging of a good friend to help alleviate the chronic low back pain I had been enduring most of my life, following a debilitating car accident in 1993. The first class was like nothing I had ever done before and left me in tears of joy in final savasana with the knowledge that I was hooked for life. A consistent practice since then has transformed me from near-invalid to the pain-free and drug-free individual I am today. I travel frequently for work and have practiced all over the west coast of the US as well as Indonesia and Thailand, where I recently completed my 200 hour Yoga Alliance RYT teacher training. In addition to my yoga, I hold two masters degrees (one in Mathematics and one in Statistics) and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification, which I use regularly to entertain people at cocktail parties. When I am not sweating in class or guiding others to do so, I can be found crafting, dancing, or playing with my two lovable dogs.

"I was lucky enough to have Miss Erika be my personal yoga teacher for one incredible week in Bali! She is an absolutely amazing woman and teacher! She has a sense of humor to make a 90 minute hot yoga experience bearable, along with the sensitivity and patients that make you feel completely comfortable. Her passion for yoga is evident, and her enthusiasm is contagious. I always feel that I can ask her questions and she is always happy to explain and demonstrate poses. I have taken yoga classes off and on for several years, and I can easily say that she is the best yoga teacher I have ever had. I am looking forward to being back in Santa Cruz and being a regular at her upcoming studio Hot Yoga Sanctuary. I highly recommend her classes to any level of yogi! You will surly have an incredible experience!"

"The classes I took were really good - Erika is a very high energy person and she tries to make the classes interesting, fun, and comical. She is very observant of the students to be able to give corrections in a fun way and get the most out of the class. She does a good job of trying to keep the heat consistent and not kill students."
