Elizabeth Velez Urie

As a music educator, I have always felt my ultimate goal is to help students be able to someday become their own teacher. There is a saying "If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." That has always been my motto. I feel that the education I received in Europe has given me a competitive edge to be able to know what it takes to be a successful musician. More importantly, however, I feel that music should help us become better people.
