My name is Paul Tillman, and my greatest passion is ballroom dancesport. I am a current competitor at the Prechampionship level in the Amateur circuit. My partner and Theresa and I mostly compete at competitions in the Northeast, and take lessons from Mark Sheldon, Christine Harvey, Basil Issaev and Liene Apale.
I would love to spend time coaching dancers either for competition, social dancing, or weddings. I'd be happy to teach from the Newcomer level through Gold.
To learn more about my personal background, I was born in Cincinnati and move to Nottingham, England when I was 3. I lived there until I was 10 and then moved with my family to Geneva, Switzerland. At 14, we returning to the US where I went to high school in San Diego. To begin my bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, I came to Boston to study at Boston University, where I joined the Ballroom Dance Team and began competing in all 19 dances of Ballroom Dancesport. Over the past 5 years, I began focusing more and more on the 5 International Standard dances. I currently specialize in Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, and Quickstep. With my background, I would be happy to coach dancers in the Latin or Smooth style dances for Newcomers or Bronze level dancers.
Since graduating in 2009, I began training and competing with more intensity, while working in the Hotel industry.
