Billy Buss is a trumpet player, composer and educator originally from Berkeley, California, now living in New York City. Billy received his BA in Professional Music from the Berklee College of Music in 2009. Having recently graduated with a Masters in Music from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance (Class of 2011) Billy has transplanted his career in Jazz to the Big Apple and is refining his endeavors in all things musical. "Billy gave me a 2 hour lesson over the summer. Although 2 hours sounds fairly long for a lesson, it felt shorter than any 1 hour lesson I've had elsewhere. In those 2 hours I told him what I was interested in working on and he gave me more than enough material to work on for the rest of the year, and some stuff I could work on for the rest of my life. This material covered a wide range of areas too: good technique, composition, theory, improvisation, etc. In short, I learned a lot from him in a short amount of time for a very reasonable price. He is a great teacher, an incredible musician and a great human being and I'd recommend him to any serious musician out there. "
