  "As I write this, I’m taking a break from practicing my clarinet.
  
  I started playing at age 55 and didn’t want to learn any bad habits that I would have to unlearn later. Lucky for me, I found Barbara Smith, fresh out of Music College and she took me on as a pupil.
  
  I looked forward to my 1 hour lessons each week, and not only for Barbara’s musical expertise. She gave me encouragement. It was priceless really!
  
  I’m 65 now, and just getting back to practicing after a long lay off due to health reasons. It’s going well, and coming back fast. I live in Florida now, but if I still lived in Vermont, I’d be back in class again.
