Trina Soumare is a dancer, choreographer, musician, and arts educator. Her love affair with the West African arts began in 1991. She's studied with some of the world’s most respected West African performing artists. She has traveled throughout the east coast and West Africa, studying and sharing her love for the African arts via interactive classes and workshops. In 2005, Trina co-founded Ballet Brika West African Dance Theater with her husband, percussionist, Moussa Soumah.
