Andrew Steward

I am currently a Senior Flute Performance Major at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music. I have played the flute for 13 years and taught the flute since 2003. I study with the 40 year Principal Flutist of the Colorado Symphony, Pamela Endsley. I have also studied with Gary Woodward, Principal Flutist of the L.A. Opera, and Peter Ader, flutist/piccoloist with the Santa Fe Opera. I have received extra coaching with Eric Hoover, past Principal Flute of the San Antonio Symphony and President of the National Flute Association. I have studied extensively in summer music programs with Bernard Goldberg, Bonnie Boyd, Amy Porter, Jonathan Keeble, Keith Underwood, Judy Mendenhall, Damian Bursill-Hall, and Linda Toote. I have played in masterclasses for Marianne Gedigian, Eric Hoover, Rhian Kenny, and Jill Felber.

In 2004 while still in high school I was the 1st prize winner in the Deborah Beene Memorial Music Competition and won numerous principal positions in State and Regional honor ensembles. My flute students have all gone on to be leaders in their youth ensembles and also found a genuine love for flute playing.
