"Angela is a fabulous instructor who meets students at their level and her analytical mind is wonderful at picking apart a move or pose and translating that into words her students can understand to achieve the pose or move. She is patient and very warm and welcoming! I love the progression of the silks - it is a workout but it's so much more than that - you can actually see your achievements as you move from strength to grace perfecting moves. The rewards are tangible - something you couldn't do initially, becomes easy and then you tackle something else. It will also change your body and it definitely excercises your mind too!! I am an extremely clumsy person... but the silks have made me feel graceful. I would def recomend these classes not just to those wanting to learn silks but also those looking to get in great shape! What do I wear to class?
Form fitting athletic wear that covers the underarms, waist, and below the knee. Leave all jewelry at home please. This gets caught on the silks and tares the fabric.
What can I do to better prepare for my lessons?
Do your max pushups, sit ups, and stretch for at least 15 min. everyday! Strength and flexibility will make lessons much less painful. Doing at least 30 min of cardio 6 days a week will help with endurance. And always have a positive, hard working attitude! ;)
What should I bring to class?
A yoga mat. LOTS of water. And a positive, hardworking attitude! ;)
