  "I came to Allen 7 years ago after having been a Metal singer for twenty years. Due to incorrect technique and lifestyle factors i was experiencing pain;shortened range and hoarseness after performances.In short my voice was shot. I was looking for a "quick fix" to alleviate this problem. Allen explained that there was no "quick fix" for my massive vocal damage,only slow consistent work. I must admit I haven't been the easiest student.My ego made me slow to change my concepts(which I knew weren't working).Allen has shown great compassion and patience through the years.He has gone out of his way to bring me back to vocal health. I can report that with Allen's guidance and a regimen of everyday practice and a bit of an attitude adjustment I am able to sing!I am only limited by my imagination.Flexibility and range have returned and I am able to sing without pain! Allen is a amazing teacher and has become a wonderful friend"

  "I had dabbled in music and was essentially a mimic so I wanted to strengthen whatever skills I already had and discover what my voice was actually capable of doing. I came to Allen as an untrained singer and did not expect the road to my voice to be such a journey. In the year I have studied with Allen, I have not only developed a functional and dependable voice, but have learned about the actual mechanics of my voice. I am currently working on developing a distinct voice that is my own, but the structure and the stamina are there to support me because of the work I have done with Allen.   "I've been studying with Allen for over 3 years, and I am so thankful to have had him! I have had multiple breakthroughs, and increased my strength and range more than I could have imagined. Allen's teaching technique is the best- he teaches through exercises, which build your vocal muscular system in very specific, steady and controlled ways. He has a great ear, and can identify exactly what you're doing wrong, and addresses it with a specific exercise. Often times I would come to my lesson with allergies, minor colds, or even *cough* hangovers, and by the end of it he would have me singing as if nothing was wrong. I've never had any pain, and have completely trusted him with my voice, and it has certainly paid off. He'll also push you during the lessons, so that you never feel like you didn't accomplish anything. I found that even when I neglected my personal practice, I would still improve as long as I just showed up to my voice lesson that week. The most similar thing I can liken it to is having a very good personal trainer for weightlifting. All in all, I would highly, highly recommend Allen. He truly has a passion for singing, and has personally overcome very difficult vocal obstacles, so he knows how to avoid them, and what to do to fix them. He is a gifted vocalist and teacher."
