I've been playing the Violin for 20+ years and have loved every moment of it.
Since I started my professional career both my teaching and playing styles have been heavily influenced by the Classical, Jazz, Rock, Folk, and Indie presences in my life (academic and peer).
I have respect for any and all artists/aspiring artists that wish to make something their own. Be it slow, high pitched, bold, gentle, or simply eccentric, everyone has a very unique style that mirrors what it is that makes you... you. And that thing, whatever it may be, is very personal and valuable.

"My 7 year old kid has been taking lessons from Alan for over 1 year. Alan is a very patient, motivating teacher who managed to get students listening, concentrating and responding to him. He makes the lessons fun and rewards with stickers. :-)
We're very happy with our child's progress. "

"Alan is a great teacher! He is very patient with the kids, finding different ways to explain things if they don't understand, and relating the concepts to everyday things, if needed. He is very good with finding a nice balance between disciplined, serious time and allowing them to enjoy the music and have fun learning. He picks great pieces for them to play, which (thankfully) has kept them interested in the violin. I would definitely recommend Alan to other families looking for a violin teacher. He is well worth it!"
