Aaron Kollipara

I have been playing trombone for the past eight years, three of which I've spent concurrently playing bass trombone.

In high school, I went through one of the finer band programs in the state at Northville High School. Since then, I have gained experience playing second, third, fourth, and fifth trombone in the jazz band; second trombone as a pit musician; bass trombone in trombone quartets; and tuba in a brass quintet and tuba quartet.

My teaching philosophy pays special attention to the individual's abilities. I believe in the importance of playing-and performing-in small ensembles or chamber ensembles, simply because small ensembles place more responsibility on each musician, but also because playing in small ensembles has taught me what I am and what I can be. I feel with the right encouragement, giving a student that responsibility will make them rise to the challenge.
