Accomplished harpist Timbre Cierpke has been performing both solo and in symphonies for over 18 years. She has 10 years of teaching experience with all ages, as well as a degree in music performance from Trevecca Nazarene University. She has traveled the world playing music and has won several awards. "Timbre has been my harp teacher for two months as I am learning to play the harp for the first time. I have very little music experience, though I did play the cello for a while- but never got far with it. Timbre has been remarkable teacher for me. During our lessons, she writes down, in my personal notebook, the highlights of what she teaches which is an invaluable tool for me as I am able to review what I need to work on as I practice during the week. She communicates ideas and concepts clearly for me to understand. And I am an adult learner, it is not so easy for me to grasp things quickly.
Timbre is very efficient and makes very good use of our time. The quality of her instruction is outstanding. She is attentive in her teaching and keeps a sharp eye on how I play and my technique. She also reviews what was learned last week and helps me with my music flash cards. She is always positive, friendly and encouraging.
I decided to play the harp on a whim and I'm so happy I did. I'm so very grateful to have Timbre as my teacher and I always look forward to my lessons. =)"
