Avital Asuleen: is a New York based performer, educator, choreographer, and director. She graduated from Brandeis University in 2006 with Bachelor’s degrees in Theater Arts and History, and a Master’s Degree in Comparative History. Upon graduation, Avital had the opportunity to choreograph many shows in the greater Boston area, including “Dames at Sea” and “Lucky Stiff” (Turtle Lane Playhouse), “The King and I”, “Cats”, and “Peter Pan”, (Watertown Children’s Theatre), and “The Threepenny Opera” (Brandeis Theatre Company). She also directed several productions, such as “ Anything Goes” (Stoneham Theatre), “Fiddler on the Roof” (Watertown Children’s Theatre), and “Wiley and the Hairy Man” (CBACT festival), and performed in the musicals “Chess” (Turtle Lane Playhouse), and “No No Nanette” (The Reagle Players). In May of 2008 she premiered her first piece of concert dance choreography, “Damn, Doesn’t She Know JAZZ is the Future” at The Dance Complex in Cambridge, MA. Avital moved to New York City in the fall of 2008 in order to further pursue her career, and has since performed in regional theater productions and cabarets around the country, including “Sugar” (The Broward Stage Door), “A Christmas Spectacular” (La Comedia Dinner Theater), and Don’t Tell Mama’s Cabaret. Currently, Avital is teaching teen musical theater technique at The George Street Playhouse, and is thrilled to be making her Manhattan choreography debut with “If You Give a Girl a Magazine”.
