Doug began playing piano at the age of 8. He studied classical piano from 8 to 18 for 10 years. At 18, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he studied Songwriting/Lyricwriting/Composition, Music Education, and Music Synthesis (Synthesizers, MIDI, Home Recording). He graduated from Berklee with a Bachelors Degree in Music.

After graduating from Berklee, he moved to the Greater Orlando area, where he began performing, directing, producing, and teaching private voice & piano lessons.

In 2010 Doug took his music education offerings online, and began teaching through his own eLearning website, www.MyMusicExpert.com.

Doug now teaches live interactive private lessons & group workshops online, and also has online pre-recorded courses available 24/7 as well. But even the pre-recorded courses come with Doug's interactive feedback and guidance all the long the way via 2-way video messaging! Only the "IN-struction" is pre-recorded.
