About Spanish
Spanish originated in the Iberian Peninsula and was later brought to the Americas, Africa and Asia Pacific in the 1400s. Today, Mexico contains the largest number of people who speak Spanish. Tutors are often either from Spanish-speaking countries, or have taken enough Spanish lessons to become fluent.

Because there are so many native speakers and people who take Spanish lessons, the third most commonly spoken language in the world is Spanish. Tutors might start your first Spanish lessons going over the basics: "Hola," "?C?mo est?s?" and "Adi?s." Numbers, colors and animals also make for good beginner vocabulary.

Remember that each Spanish-speaking country has its own unique accent, so the accent your Spanish tutor uses during your Spanish lesson might not sound like others you've heard. Betterfly can help match you with the right Spanish tutor for you so that your Spanish lesson is "?fabuloso!"
