About Personal Training
Personal training incorporates many different types of exercises aimed at enhancing one's physical fitness. A personal trainer may teach anything from aerobics to running, and most anything in between that promotes the five components of physical fitness: muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, body composition and flexibility.

As their title suggests, personal trainers tend to work one-on-one with their clients, either at fitness facilities or at the client's home. Consequently, one of the benefits to personal training is that it allows the client to set, and closely monitor, personal fitness goals with the personal trainer, who may then go ahead and design workout programs targeting the client's specific needs.

When selecting who's the right one for you, make sure to first discuss his or her professional credentials; unlike "athletic trainers," who must hold a higher education degree in the health sciences, all personal trainers come from different training backgrounds and hold vastly different qualifications.
